Two kinds of strike matter: strikes by airport employees (Fraport ground staff, security screeners) are external to the airline and usually extraordinary; strikes by Lufthansa’s own pilots, cabin crew or ground staff are not (Airhelp v SAS, Krüsemann). Winter weather and night-flight restrictions (Frankfurt’s curfew forces late departures to be cancelled) are typically extraordinary where proven.
