Malpensa-specific issues
Malpensa is easyJet’s largest base outside the UK and the long-haul airport for Milan, with ITA, Emirates, Qatar Airways and the US carriers. Po Valley fog in autumn and winter is the classic defence: low visibility is extraordinary where it actually prevented your flight and the airline took all reasonable measures; a knock-on delay from an earlier fog-affected rotation is judged on the original cause.
Milan–Linate (LIN) is a separate airport with its own short-haul schedule; a booking that mixes the two is not a connection, and a “diversion” from Malpensa to Linate or Bergamo still counts as arrival in Milan for the delay calculation.
