Care and re-routing when leaving Copenhagen

Cancelled or denied boarding: the choice between a refund of the unused ticket within 7 days and re-routing to your destination at the earliest opportunity or on a later date of your choosing, with care while you wait.
Delayed 5 h or more: you may give up the journey and take a full refund of the unused ticket, with a return flight to your departure point if the trip has lost its purpose.
Copenhagen is the main SAS hub and a busy winter-weather airport. The Danish Civil Aviation and Railway Authority handles complaints for departures, and Scandinavian carriers usually answer in writing with a named cause you can test.

Copenhagen-specific issues
Copenhagen is SAS’s main hub, so many itineraries connect on a single booking and the delay is measured at the final destination. Winter snow and de-icing are the standard defence; weather is extraordinary only where it prevented your flight and the airline took all reasonable measures. SAS’s own pilot and cabin-crew strikes are not extraordinary — the Court of Justice decided exactly that in Airhelp v SAS (C-28/20), a case about a flight from this network.
Norwegian and Ryanair fly point-to-point from Copenhagen; only the arrival delay of your own flight counts, and rotation delays are compensable unless the root cause was extraordinary.
